#Hec ras etc software#
As well as a comprehensive review of the existing network and assessment of requirements to meet future initiatives, software tools for and guidance on network management were developed. The work was undertaken in two phases: i) River Gauging Network, ii) Rainfall Gauging Network. From January 2007 to September 2010, we carried out an extensive national review of the hydrometric network in England and Wales on behalf of the Environment Agency. We have an impressive track record in relation to delivering strategic hydrometric studies: He has been involved in fluvial, pluvial (surface water), coastal and sewer model assessments utilising a vast array of common modelling packages to achieve the best results, from macro scale scour assessments of individual bridge piers, site-specific Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) in support of development applications, up to catchment and national scale flood risk mapping projects. Over the last nine years José has worked in UK environmental consultancy and has a wealth of knowledge in both 1D and 2D modelling gained across numerous projects and over a decade of hands-on experience. José is a Senior Analyst with JBA and has 13 years’ experience in the field of environmental consultancy. He is also a lecturer on the Lancaster University and JBA PgCert course on river hydraulics. He has been involved with flood risk mapping (at national and local scales) since 1984 and is Framework Director for the Water & Environmental Management Framework with UK flood management authorities. He has over 32 years’ water engineering, management and hydrology experience working in the UK and overseas and has published and lectured widely on these subjects. Jeremy is the Executive Chairman of JBA Group. Jeremy Benn FREng MA MSc CEng C.WEM FICE FCIWEM MASCE MIEI Gavin has experience in undertaking Flood Risk Assessments for varying sized developments and outline design surface water drainage systems and SuDS to support planning applications. He has also contributed to engineering studies for local authorities involving outline design of flood alleviation options. To interpret it, we need to see how the long section is and change the value to positif.Gavin has been involved in a wide range of hydraulic modelling studies using HEC-RAS (1D), Flood Modeller- TUFLOW (1D-2D) and JFlow (2D). Based the velocity equation the possible negative value is come from the Slope value which can be read negative by the system. The reversed graphic is caused by negative value of Velocity which is a part of flow equation.
Some of flow results that shown in graphic area is reversed and sometime make a miss interpretation. The modelling results is a flood plain area, a flow in cross section area, velocity and etc. It even can calculate an unsteady flow in 2D simulation and use a discharge calculation as an initial boundary data and use a Digital Elevation Model as flow areas. HEC RAS is one of modelling software that often used by an engineer to create a flood model.
Flood can be happened from various cautions from the Dam failure, heavy rain, tidal and etc.
Modelling software is important nowadays, especially in a country which troubled with a flood. Bambang Eko Widyanto, Sandy Radhitya Akbar, Fuad Hasan Abstract
